Do teens need to lose weight?

Usually, teens are after having an ideal body. But, what’s an ideal body? According to many teens, an ideal body is the body of their favorite celebrity. So, they may do anything to reach this ideal body.

Thanks to the media that played an important role in this idea about ideal body. Nowadays, there is a lot of media marketing that is focusing on celebrities. Whether it is movies, TV or even the internet, all these media are focusing on one thing, which is the daily life of celebrities. Normally, most teens are very much interested in their favorite celebrities’ appearance, the way they act and how do they practice their daily life activities. They want to have their looks. Regardless of what this may lead to. They never think about what these celebrities have done, it’s just their appearance.

Many teens have eating disorders due to the poor diet they are practicing. Some of them are practicing the yo-yo diet in which they eat and barf. This is just to be slim and enjoy their ideal bodies that they are looking for.  

Teens must know that the ideal weight must be calculated. The ideal weight is depending on their height, body mass and frame. They have to learn that not all the bodies are having the same structure and shape.

It is very important for them to know that they have to consult their physician before they start any kind of diet. They have to be sure first that they need to lose weight. Otherwise, they will be at a higher risk of experiencing many serious health problems. They have to listen to their physician’s advice.

In addition, they must believe that this fantasy of having an ideal body similar to that of their favorite celebrity is not always possible. May be they already have an ideal body, but they can’t feel it.
