Every day there is someone coming up on TV trying to sell you his new colon cleansing system. May be another one is advertising for a new kind of yogurt or so that is made especially for people having problems with their colon.

But, you can do this yourself. Yes, you can! All you need is some adjustments to your daily habits. Let’s start by breakfast. It’s the most important meal in the whole day. If you are one of those who are drinking a lot of coffee in the morning it‘s time to minimize the caffeine that you are consuming. You can replace caffeine and soft drinks with water. A warm glass of water first thing in the morning will be a great help for your new routine. Try to consume more herbal tea. Stay away from artificial sweeteners and fat.

When you go to work, you may take your lunch with you. Fruits and vegetables are easy to carry. Salad can act as a good lunch. If you prepare your own dressing at home it will be a good idea. You can mix up red wine vinegar and virgin olive oil with a ratio of 1:2. Then, add salt and pepper. Keep the dressing apart until it’s time for lunch and then add it to the salad.

Of course going to restaurants and consuming processed food is not recommended at all. You may include law fat cheese or nuts to your lunch.

It’s time to start shopping at local farmers’ markets. You can start making a schedule for the week. You will get a clear idea about the available vegetables and fruits. They will be fresh. No frozen food full of preservatives that will harm your colon. Smaller portions of meat are advisable.

So, as you can see, you don’t need an expert on TV to tell about a new colon cleansing system. Just some planning for your meals and changing your eating habits will do.
